He might be older but closer to the mark than you think. Not saying I take what he says as gospel but wisdom comes with age. He's realised that in recreating what we have in our heads, predictability and what happens 'in between' is becoming very similar. Would you leave a 2 year old to their own devices with no guidance as they mature?

I fail to find insightful arguments in this article against Hinton's claims. I do not share his views, but the article doesn't make an effort to actually refute them other than "oh this old senile guy is past his prime".
